Recently, when a couple of our customers asked us whether or not they should attend, unsurprisingly we responded (enthusiastically) that they should. We thought we would share some of the reasoning behind this in this post.
Education and Insight
The IBM Commerce Learning Academy agenda has something for everyone--business and technical, deep dive and strategic level.
For example, in the B2B integration technical sessions, presenters will share customer stories around the planning and issues involved in a B2B integration solution upgrade, as well as how your organization can handle the transformation from small scale integration to a high availability, high volume, multi-protocol environment. (See B2Bi Session 07 (B2BI S 07 in the IBM Commerce Learning Academy Technical Session Guide)).
There will also be some deep dives into the B2B integration and managed file transfer (MFT) technologies and processes, including enhancements to the IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and IBM Sterling File Gateway solutions. (See B2Bi Session 09 (B2BI S 09)).
In the ecommerce sessions, one of the largest European retailers (you’ll have to come along to find out who it is) will be demonstrating how they optimised the performance of their order management solution and processes, and share some key best practices. (See ECommerce Session 06 (ECOMM S 06)).
There will also be some deep dives into how to maximise the performance and scalability of ecommerce websites and the WebSphere Commerce solutions. (See ECommerce Session 10 (ECOMM S 10)).
The new IBM Payments Gateway solution will be showcased at the event too, and we’re very excited about the possibilities this unlocks for companies in terms of e-commerce across devices and geographies. This is incredibly interesting, as it’s now possible to orchestrate real-time transactions for a wide range of commercial and retail payment types and services. (See PAYMENTS Session 01 (PMTS S 01)).
It’s also a great facilitator for driving better customer experiences in digital commerce, by having pre-built, ready to deploy global retail payments and settlement reconciliation solutions. (See PAYMENTS Session 02 (PMTS S 02).
Overall there are more than 100 sessions across all these solution areas. Visit the IBM Commerce Learning Academy website for more information on the sessions, as well as to register for the event.
The Academy places a strong emphasis on networking at the event. Many thought leaders, industry experts and customers across industries and functions will be in attendance. The networking events provide an excellent environment to exchange ideas and discuss insights. We’ve seen many interesting conversations emerge from these sessions.
We’re also sponsoring an IBM Commerce luncheon, as well as hands-on lab sessions, so be sure not to miss those. Be sure to look out for the Lightwell giveaways during our sponsored events!
You’ll get to meet Ian Wells (General Manager, EMEA), Chris Thorpe (CTO) and Kyriakos Markianos (Senior Account Executive) from the Lightwell team at the event. You can learn more about them on the Lightwell UK and Ireland section of our site. We hope you will come and visit them at our exhibit in the expo hall. They have decades of experience with the IBM B2B Integration, Commerce and WebSphere solutions between them. They’re certain to share some great insight on leveraging the IBM solutions for your business.
It’s difficult to cram into one blog post all the amazing opportunities that come from attending the IBM Commerce Learning Academy event. However, if you balance your time across the technical and business sessions, engage in discussion with the IBM and Lightwell teams, chat with industry experts, and engage in conversation with other attendees at the event--you’ll gain a huge amount of value to take back to your business.
We hope to see you there!
