IBM Sterling File Transfer Engineer

Location: Brentwood, TN area

Lightwell has a file transfer engineer position available in the Brentwood, TN area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IBM/Sterling MFT product suite. Responsible for implementation and administration of a managed file transfer environment utilizing IBM\Sterling product solutions.
  • Provide Tier 2 Support to TRR’s with Client Setups, Creation of Business Processes, File Mapping, Exchange of Client Authentication Credentials and Keys, and Control Center Monitors.
  • Research and Troubleshoot File Transmission Issues in MFT environments.
  • Provide Support for Legacy Connect:Enterprise and In-House FTP Platforms.
  • Collaborate with mainframe and other server administrators to setup internal processes for data flows.
  • Manage certificates in MFT environments.
  • Responsible for ensuring the MFT environments can be backed up and restored properly and is configured for the highest availability possible.
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation regarding the MFT environment.
  • Coordinates significant changes with the Help Desk and Operations change control personnel.
  • Performs problem determination on moderately difficult problems.
  • Implements systems disaster recovery plan.
  • Performs on-call support for assigned products.
  • Performs space management and capacity planning.
  • Works with vendor technical support.
  • Manages small to medium projects.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years experience supporting a large-scale Managed File Transfer environment.
  • IBM\Sterling MFT Product Suite including Sterling Integrator, File Gateway, Proxy Server, Sterling External Authentication Server, Control Center, Connect Enterprise, Connect Direct, and Secure+.
  • Working knowledge of AIX 6.1 and Solaris 10.
  • Possess a strong understanding of file transfer protocols including Standard FTP, SSL, SSH, HTTPS, and PGP Encryption and Decryption.
  • Std. and Secure FTP File Transmissions in an AS400 Environment.
  • FTP Client tools including WS-FTP and Filezilla.
  • Unix shell scripting.
  • Proficient knowledge of multiple host platforms, operating systems, monitors, network and communication protocols.
  • Proficient knowledge of multiple hardware configuration concepts.
  • Strong team-building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Business and product knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills.
